I talked to TK Tuesday, and continued trying to figure out a way to get out there. We're still playing catch up from the wife being unemployed all summer, and I thought we'd be further along. While I could afford the trip, it would cut into the kids' Christmas a little, and I'm not ok with that.

So I will have to live vicariously through the pics you guys post, so make sure there's plenty, and not just of the hunting. Sorry for the late notice, but I didn't want to say anything until I was absolutely certain. I was even hoping there would be a "Black Friday airfare sale" or something this morning, but no dice.

Being an adult is rewarding, but it sucks at times, too, I guess.

Damn, I hate to hear that. Good father though.

I promised my seeds that I'd send them a post card from every town that I stopped in to fuel up on my way out West.

Sorry for never getting on here fellas. I feel like I don't even have time to wipe my own ass. Still count me in pretty pretty please. Let me know what I need to bring. Sucks that Jim won't make it, but we'll manage without. Harvest season is very stressful.

What we shoot will be green or a goose. Place I hunted yesterday will not be water, gonna be on the river or breaking ice. Too bad hunt couldn't have been yesterday, hope the forecast is wrong.

Single digit temps by Fri night. Some might like cold for waterfowling, I think it blows ass. Enjoyed the 60deg of yesterday, ducks seemed to like it also. Helped to thaw the lake I hunted, was 2/3 froze when we got there.

If no birds are on the river, there is a nice cove we could break a big hole in the ice, use 2 or 3 trolling motors on stakes to keep it open, sounds like a good time!

Could be worse, look at the guys up north.
You might get to experience breaking holes in the ice, my big pond has a waist deep cove.

Have it warming up the weekend of, nothing will open but it'll be easier to keep holes in the ice open. Will also clear the river of ice flows.

I'm okay with those temps. I'll be hunting in WY for a couple days prior to Kansas. It will be negative temps for lows and single digits or teens for the highs.
Kansas will be like an Hawaiin vacation.

No shit. Ain't the temps I'm worried about, its finding birds in piss poor low water conditions. TKs boat will not 7-8 people.
