Doc opened her eye today, and she held it open for a few seconds and could see one and two fingers. Looking better.

Update

She is staying awake for many hours at a time and is getting a lot of speech back. Today she moved out of the ICU and into a recovery unit. Things are looking up and doc says she has a good chance of almost full recovery, but it will be a long tough road.

My Mom had a minor stroke several years ago. Only way you can tell is she has a slight droop to one side of the face. Check the internet out for things you need to do to her home after a stroke. Falling down stairs becomes high risk for stroke patients. Ensuring good handrails is one of the must do's.

I'm sure all her kids will be well on top of thing like that. Thanks for the heads up. The only major portion of the brain that was affected was the sleep and eyesight portion. So she shouldn't loose much, if any, coordination. Which is a huge plus.

Need a little more help with this again guys. Things took a turn for the worse. She now has pneumonia, and developed a hole in her heart. It's getting really hard on her family and spreading a somewhat broken family even further apart.
Things really aren't looking good and could use some prayers for a mericle and for her family.
