I think it needs to be treated like the sacko. Perhaps the loser of this years March Madness bracket has to bear the curse for the next year!

I will take the decoy! Hammered birds with it in November, and I knew the NCH was fucked before it arrived in Dec. Even got my nephew his first duck over it.

It certainly isn't going to make the last week of my season any worse than the rest of it's been. I'm already kind of depressed about what a shitty hunt tomorrow's likely to be.

We are in the midst of the worst drought in my lifetime for this area. Driest December and January on record.

I hear that, .6" in December, was all snow that evaporated before it could melt. 3 years of it is getting old.

Yup, I could remember when I was a wee little boy. The early 90's was dry as a bone, and this year sounds like it's worse. If we dont have a wet spring we are quite honestly truly fucked.

That's like some of the lakes to the west of me, where I pheasant hunt, they have been near 25ft low for near three years. Ready to see the drought break.

You should read a book by Elmer Kelton called "The Time It Never Rained". About a 20 year drought in north Texas. Really good read, and may help to put it in perspective.

I could have shot a possession limit of sprig today. They got to be kinda like coot. The mallards, not so much.

The Refuges have mandatory water rights. Sounds like sutter refuge will be getting the short end of the stick again. But thats nothing new. I'd wonder how its goin to impact the birds with less flooded rice ground though. Might be a major outbreak of ducky sickness next season. With all the birds piled up in the closed zone more then they already are...... To answer your question. ...... not a snow balls chance in hell buddy. The hunting pontienaly could be kick ass for the areas that have water. Shit loads of birds with very few options makes for fun hunting. My concerns is for the rice guys and the fish runs we get up our rivers. The salmon are fucked if this shit continues.

He's packed with the gear and ready to roll. I'm just afraid I might break him, so I put him in a bag inside of another bag, which may or may not be an effective strategy.
