i will buy a savage over a remmy everyday of the week....floating bolt head and barrel nut are all +s
lots of guys are using the savage action to build precision rifles for comps and the are bringing home some hardware.
Fred at savage shooters supply is a wizard with them and have tuned a few up for me first rate work at a very fair price, and no shit strait up kicking ass. been seeing more and more in f class and long range Benchrest both group and score

I have a Savage 110FP in 7mm that is a sub 1/2 MOA shooter. Everything is stock, except the trigger - and it's original, I just went through and polished the surfaces so it's crisp.

My buddy just bought one in .260 that we are gonna work on over the winter.

Quite possible. I've only been a bird hunter. No need for a rifle. Looking to get into bigger game sooner than later.

Complete opposite for me, started out with big game then was introduced into duck hunting about 5-6 years ago. My dad won't hunt waterfowl because water scares the shit out of him for whatever reason.

for the money you cant beat them. when i have some one start asking about some of the rifles they shit at the cost. i always tell them to get a savage model 10 or 12.

Agree, I did my homework before buying my Savage, IMO the best bang for your buck.

I once shot a nut out of a squirrels mouth at 1k with a .22. In all seriousness though 300 is nothing, I play kid games at that distance. When you step up to the big boy games I will put a M24 in your hands and then we will talk.

I'm sure your $1000 M-24 put 3 shots under 1.25" at 300. But my Ruger American in .270 Winchester does that and I got it for dirt cheap. I also have a Smith and Wesson 1500 Deluxe in .25-06 Remington that will put 5 inside a dime at 100.

I bet you can't do that when someone's shooting back at you. But my 10" groups of 5.56 are plenty enough in that case.

Who made the projectile for that? Whoever did doesn't know shit about 30mm or what it even looks like.

It was made over from across the pond. It's just for a decoration. It seems to be either titanium or aluminum.

I did and it was. Although my truck wasn't broke down. Didn't drive it cause I would have spent a lot more in fuel

Same for me. I think My pickup would of been ok. Just didn't want to risk it, and fuel mileage is way better in the inlaws truck I drove up there in anyways.
