Is that why Olly won't let you be a global mod?

Quite possible. I've only been a bird hunter. No need for a rifle. Looking to get into bigger game sooner than later.

Can yall hunt deer with rifles?

Muzzleloader, shotgun, and archery only.

I believe I could rifle hunt deer in IN though.[/quote]

You forgot handgun season. And IN only allows handgun caliber rifles.

A side note, I am a firm believer that everyone should have at least one defense rifle as a responsible American.

If I were to build an AR15...would . 223 be the right way to go?
I'm kind of rifle challenged. I barely qualified because I have trouble with the breathing part.

No, get a 5.56 barrel. You can shoot .223 from a 5.56, but not supposed to do it the other way. Little more pressure, little more velocity with the 5.56, and not anymore money. Plus, you can shoot military "surplus" rounds if the time comes. Also, EP Lowers has the 80% polymer lowers on sale for $50. Legal, no serial, no FFL. The best AR is one that doesn't exist.

I watched a video of polymer lowers breaking yesterday.

Elp has made guns with .50 Beowolf out of the damaged lowers and they held up. Don't think .223 is an issue.

There's really nothing to a lower, anyway. No reason it shouldn't work just fine even if held together by duct tape. All it is is a glorified holder for a mag and a trigger group.

Maybe I'll try to make one out of wood, and swap the parts on mine, just to see if it works. Actually, I think that is an excellent experiment.

Same for me. I think My pickup would of been ok. Just didn't want to risk it, and fuel mileage is way better in the inlaws truck I drove up there in anyways.

With that money you saved you could finally pay boot back for the hotel room from when we went to ash creek.......
