Back end of a jeep only has to slide a few feet before your past the point of no return. With a truck you have a LOT more play with your backend before it gets too far around to stop it.

Ice is ice I would think. But with a little snow on top it is better than just glass.
We got a bad ice storm just south of us early this winter. It was too cold for salt to work and the roads were like glass. I'll see if I can find a pic. It was pretty cool.

the siping allows better traction on snow and ice, therefore your tires don't break free and lock up. so yes, you brake better with siping.

if you compromise better traction for gas mileage, something you paid for and are literally are burning up anyway, you're retarded. i doubt you're shortening the life of a vehicle by using 4 wheel drive.
