Hey do you really want that Amboyna blank? It needs to be cut in half and you'd probably do something with it before I would.

This is probably the dumbest thing I've read in a while. Just sayin.

I was thinking the same thing. Never heard of a sidewinder bullet that consistently hits as 300 yards. Would be good for shooting around trees.

if its dead on at 3 then it has to deader oner at 1 and 2!

And X2!

Depends on the type of bullet your shooting and the rate of twist in your barrel. That's why I say you can have a hell of a load at 3000 that won't group inside a diameter of a basketball at 100.

Quit while your behind. I know nothing about ballistics and know that's a load of shit. A bullet can't be off 6" and 100 yards and dead in at 300.

I'm talking about shooting groups not precision shooting.

Me too. If a bullet has a 1" group at 300 yards it will have <1" group at 100 yards. That's just common seance. Bullets don't spin in circles they magically find the spot at 300 yards.

as much as i dont want to defend RFMC he is mostly right. some bullets will not stabilize untill they are 200-400 yards down range.my best 1000 yard rifle only shoots at best half moa at 100 yards, but will print 4 inch 10 shot groups all day long at 1k

assateague wrote:I've heard the unstable bullet deal before, too. But awkward in terms of bullet weight coupled with twist, i.e. a 100 grain bullet with stabilize better from a 1:7 vs a 1:10, or something. What I've never heard of is an improper weight/twist combination being used for greater accuracy down range.

what twist rate you use is determined by what length of a bullet you will be using the longer the faster you need. weight just happens to be a by product of length.

i will refrain from talking about rifles and extreme accuracy and precision from this time forward.

Yes - 1/2" not "basket ball sized".

You can't be all over the place at 100 and be on a gnats ass at 300

1/2 MOA at 100 is a lot different than "throws them all over the ****' place like a machine gun."
