hey Olly any idea how I can get outta jury duty next week?Olly wrote:This whole argument is fucked.
Buying American made shit isn't even a civic duty.
Being a part of one of your constitutionally protected God given rights is.

Where do they get their ore? Or steel? Are the bearings in their rachets made here or outsourced? What about the plastics in their products. I'm sure they mold their own handles but what about the plastic beads? Are those made here what about the dyes used to color the plastic? Are the electric motors in their drills made here? How about the magnets or windings in the motors? The batteries? The copper in the A/C charger did that come from America?
I don't know Olly I'm not debating you on this. As much as that shit cost I'd like to think its all American. But you are correct, America doesn't produce much just assembled it.
My buddy has a snap-on 1/2" battery operated impact. That this was the tits...then he told me what it cost. I about pissed myself.

Compared to other brands, Snap-On electric and air impacts suck, except for their 1/4" air ratchet.

exactly, but then again, you weren't the one running around with an american flag and sparklers singing the praises of "civic duty" and calling everybody who doesn't agree with your views on jury duty a bad american.

Do you really think that not buying exclusively American "made" stuff and trying to eat out jury duty because you just don't feel like it are the same thing?
Olly wrote:(MT)Montanafowler wrote:Olly wrote:(MT)Montanafowler wrote:i can't make a point for you, your whole argument is pointless. the only point you've made is that you buy cheap shit from foreign countries.
And you don't own a thing from another country? Oh that's right I forgot you're an all American mountain man or whatever BS you claim to be.get real bud everyone including you owns Chinese stuff. The only difference is I don't lie to myself about where it comes.
yeah, i have shit made in other countries. but i buy American made any time i can. Some things though we as a country just don't make anymore. also, if i can make it myself, i will.
When did I ever say that I don't buy "American" if I can? I love having shit that says made in America on it but to claim that JUST because it's "made" here its automatically better quality. Especially because when so much stuff "made" here is assembled with Components from elsewhere.

Thank you! One time I made the mistake of buying a 3/8" impact off the Snap On truck. Biggest waste of money. My 14v IR 3/8 Impact had more balls. Back in my wrench turning days I had about 50k tied up in my tools, mostly all Snap-On except for the air tools, nothing but IR for me.
