Still fighting the gout or is this because of today's fishing trip?

It's that sonar thingy. What they didn't tell you is it sends out a bunch of pings, like the submarines in all the old WWII movies, scaring the fish away. Should've maybe got a passive rather than active sonar.

Taking the wifey out for a belated Valentine's dinner. Gonna go drop the kids off at the sitter's, swing back by the house for a few, then decide what's for dinner.

I bought my wife a candle for Valentine's Day. Today. And she was happy.

No. It was a $50 candle, for fuck's sake. A bunch of the wimmin she works with got them, so she decided she wanted one, too. So I ordered the damn thing today. They have a ring in them. Some are worth $20, some are worth $1,000. Sort of like Cracker Jacks for women, or some shit. But she's happy. Although there may be some sort of argument if this candle shows up, and melts revealing a $1,000 diamond.

I told her she could buy me some traps for Valentine's Day, and she's waiting for me to pick out the ones I want, so a $50 candle was ok. And that's what she wanted, after all.

I don't. Because I'll lose, and then I'll be bitter. I'd rather it be a $20 ring, and I can chuckle, and then go outside and fiddle with the traps she bought.

See, that sort of demonstrates a big difference between men and women. I want something that is fun and will MAKE me money.

So the 50 dollar candle equates into $100 worth of traps?

Almost, by the time shipping is added in. I'm looking at about $70 for a half dozen, and shipping always sucks.

If there is a $1000 ring in there. She falls asleep and "loses" it.

Even more traps for Jim.

Had a treat last night. New York strips and fillet, with a side of grill taters and califlower. Delicious!

Oh and carmelized onions on the steaks.

Hey, if you're going to take pics of beef tenderloin and mention me ...
I want my steak!
I don't remember the last time I bought tenderloin.
Musta been way back in the 1900's. :)
