I've read that turkeys can see blue as well.

to answer the question, they measure the amount of rods and cones in the eye and the arrangement of them, compared to our vision, they can make an educated guess as to how animals see things.

Think of any number. multiply it by 2, add 10, divide by 2, and subtract the first number. The answer will always be 5. This works with fractions and decimals too.
