Don't know. My only "real life" dealings with engineers were when we broke a truss or an HVAC cut through a floor truss, an engineer would have to come out, type up his "fix", then we had to staple his letter onto the "fix" when we were done. No problems there at all, quick and painless.

But when architects have stairs ending in a window, or a roof that cannot be built, or have a 4 foot area but need 6 feet, their response was "make it work".

I think I have heard this is because most safety equipment is designed around right handed people. So, left handed people are screwed over from the start.

I'd say that's fairly accurate, you should see a lefty use a skil saw

No shit. I hate those things, and have never seen the point. Porter Cable makes a "backwards" circ saw. We had one for those rare occasions when we had to cut a hip, and you couldn't get the right bevel on it with the regular right handed saw. Every time I used that backwards thing I felt like I was going to cut a hand off.

The trade that I saw using worm-drive saws was concrete guys building forms. If you're cutting downhill like when you cut a 2x4 without a sawhorse, they are nifty. Other than that, worthless piece of shit.

Don't know if y'all saw me talking about Bubba. I worked on a crew that had 14 carpenters in the early 90's. Bubba was the only one who used a worm-drive and it's because we had him do concrete forms for when we poured driveways and steps etc.
That's all he used it for and if he put it out when we were framing we groaned and said "uh uh".
