Idk only seen the tree growing when I was hunting in bowdoin reserve.ive never seen the grain.it can be used I'm sure just gotta get it stabilized and you can dye it too if you want

it's supposed to be really hard, so I don't think it would need to be stabilized. it does really well in the western states, where I grew up was loaded with them.

it's supposed to be really hard, so I don't think it would need to be stabilized. it does really well in the western states, where I grew up was loaded with them.[/quote]i gotcha ya.bowdoin in Northeast montana is loaded down with em.never seen a tree like that and the only reason I noticed it is cuz the pheasant where so thick in em it looked like xmas tree ornaments.of course we left the day before pheasant season

I've looked at them forever and found a guy that traded for a kahr 9 I had sitting around. Better gun for the wife as well but looks like she'll have to get her own! Shoots great! Figured if it was good enough for you it'd be more than adequate for me.
