10 year life plan.

Place for general and off topic Waterfowl talk.

10 year life plan.

Postby 3geese4me » Sun Apr 06, 2014 8:40 pm

In one of my business classes that I am taking the teacher has assigned us an assignment to give our 10 year plan and how we plan to achieve that goal. Mine goal is to own either my own bank or financial planning firm. So that got me thinking, what are some other people's 10 year plans? Is it to own your business? Retire and hunt everyday or maybe earn a special certification?

I'm 10 years into my 5 year plan, it's going pretty swell.

I plan to keep working and acquiring income producing real estate. I've got money in the market, but I don't trust it and I'm not banking on it being there down the road.

Hope to run a small business and move to a small plot of land. Will throw a couple leeches, children, in to the mix soon as well.

in 10 years I'll have a 23 yr old, 21 yr old, 18 yr old, 16 yr old and 12 yr old. My goal is to have all my hair. Not be a grandpa. Still be able to get it up. I'll be 5-6 years from retirement and on cruise control

From my readings, it takes about $10-20million in savings earned through fundraisers and investors. Also about 1 million in start up costs. An aggressive team of advisors/mentors and an administrative team. Then a year long paperwork process to make sure that your business plan is up to par.

Dan, if I am wrong on this speak up and keep me honest.

Acquire a couple more income properties in the next 2-3 years, keep hunting and fishing and hopefully still be hunting and fishing in 10 more years. I have nieces and nephews that I would like to help if and when they need it. I have a nephew living with me now that is saving for college.

I used to make ten-year and five-year plans. The companies I worked for would come up with no less than five ten-year plans every year and a new five-year plan every month. I gave up on planning when I realized 1/5 of my time was spent making plans that never came to fruition.
So, WHAT IS TODAYS PLAN?
