I thought this was a gourmet beer thread....
Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant, "If I live, I will kill you. If I die, you are forgiven." Such is the rule of honor.

Love me some shiner bock. Discovered it in Texas, now it seems to be everywhere.

Never hear the term "gourmet beer".
I believe that the proper term to use would be craft beer. The word gourmet kinda gays up the beer.

Think my favorite is still SNPA but I drink a lot of Lone Star Light.

The Warehouse Café in Port Costa, Ca. Near Crockett, Ca. right on the Martinez Straights has over 400 different beers and serves good food too. Kind of a biker bar and lot of fun.

I've heard of lone star. Is it a Texas only beer? or could I get my hands on it elsewhere?

I don't think I've seen it here, only heard people from TX talk about it. My problem is that all the hipster dipshits here demand PBR on the shelfs. Nothing wrong with PBR, but it has become such a fad to drink it that I go out of my way not to drink it.

Flint, i write this to explain my intent, not pick on you or start a fight.
It wont surprise you to know I don't give care what conventional nomenclature dictates. After all, I re-wrote the rules of Haiku to suite my own style.

I took it from my love of gmay coffee. Today, I invented my own term: gourmet beer.

My intent here was to display and discuss some of my favorite beers. You may feel more comfortable with your own thread that features beers more often found in aluminum cans.

But this non gay thread is about gourmet beers.

The same thing happened with Rolling Rock about 25 years ago. Used to be a good, cheap beer. Then the precursors of hipsters, whatever they were called, decided that Rolling Rock was "the beer", and the price damn near doubled. I wouldn't drink that shit if you paid me to, anymore.

True, gourmet and beer do not go together. None the less, these are a few of my favorites. Shiner beers are always good too.

I have two criteria for beer-
1. Cold
2. Anything but Sierra Nevada

And if I can't get those to criteria met, I'm willing to drink warm beer but not Sierra Nevada.

Good call. Widmer was the first "craft beer" I ever had and it still stands out. I've loved all their stuff so far.
