How to beat traffic camera tickets

Thankfully, the MN supreme court had ruled that these cameras don't actually prove anything and have been stopped, however I know other states still use them.

My wife got one of those, not too long ago. She wrote back it couldn't be her. They sent a picture, of my sister speeding in my wife's rig. My wife wrote back, "it's not me check your DMV pics of me against the photo." They sent her back the picture but, a shitty copy and wrote, "We have reviewed the photo and compared it to the DMV photo on file of you and the ruling has been made that it is in fact you". She wrote back, "I plead not guilty and request a court date".
Well, she forgot about the court date but, luckily, the court clerk made an exception for her, if she would come down to the court house with all the "evidence" she had, in person. I was thinking, sounds like a set up, I better start getting the bail together to get her out, after they arrest her on a bench warrant for failure to appear. Fortunately, I was wrong. The court clerk took one look at the pictures, both pictures and my wife. They both joked and laughed and the clerk marked it dismissed and that was it. I think the clerk said something along the line of she wondered if the person making the ruling against my wife even looked at the DMV picture.

They don't even need a picture here. The ticket is written for the vehicle, and the owner is expected to pay. Makes no difference who's driving, which is BS.

The funny thing about those is the ticket is for the amount owed at the booth, unless things have changed.

I got a ticket for an illegal right on red at three in the morning. It was pretty funny to see the video they had of it. An address to the link came in the envelope. It showed my truck visibly swerving down the street and then hangin a real hard right at the intersection where right turns are prohibited on red lights. Didnt even remember that shit and it was a huge fine.
I think it's bullshit that private companies make money off the fines when people are caught on those cameras.

I did that in my patrol car once leaving a class in the Bay Area. Letter showed up at the sheriffs office and I had to go to city hall to pay the fine.

How so?
Private entities should not be making money from the traffic fine itself. The company who invented the camera and sells them to law enforcement yeah thats fine. actually processing the tickets and making an income from traffic cameras.....That proves that fines for traffic violations are not there for punishment, but solely for revenue. I didnt even send the money for mine to Tift county. I had to pay my fine to the company that manages the cameras and they then took their cut and mailed the rest to the county. Or maybe it was city of Tifton since it was in town. Idfk.

The company charges a fee that is added to the fine. A camera ticket is more then a ticket a cop gives you because of this fee. So in closing the company is not making money off the fine but the violation. Free enterprise and what not!

Fuck all that traffic camera noise anyways, they should have to personally catch me and issue the ticket. Thats about as dumb as going to walmart and using the self-checkout - do your job or let me walk.

Yep exactly. That's bullshit. I have to pay a fee to someone who is not a law officer who caught me speeding?
Fuck it ill buy a radar gun and a gopro and set up some speed traps and see if the county will let me charge the speeders I catch a fee for the service of catching them.
If they wana go the route of these cameras then the agency who hires them should pay the fee bc they ain't doin me any kind of service.

I love self checkout but I think there should be a discount for using it.

That's a good idea right there.
I was at Home Depot a few months ago. Bought a new thermostat for my a/c unit. It was kinda expensive and it had one of those alarms that go off if you tamper with it. After I did the cashiers job and checked myself out I stood there waiting for a few mins to see if there was anyone to take the security thing off. Eventually I pulled out my knife and cut the damn thing off and threw it in the floor and walked out with the damn alarm sounding. Fuck em... i paid for it, I said to my wife who was in shock at what I had done.

I think the cameras are BS also and in this state anyone who gets one with a little research can get out of the ticket. My point was someone thought I can make money off this. After all the payer of said fee did choose to run the red knowing it was against the law. Personal responsibility meet free enterprise.

I bet you could get Maryland to issue you a permit if you shared the loot, say maybe 20%. Hell you could probably get a few days worth of toll fees before someone even questioned you. free enterprise

And I really dont hate the idea of the checkout, I also hate the idea of doing someone's job and not hetting a discount. But, I guess I get my discount in the form of faster service - which is aweful when you think about it and realize I'm better at the checkers job than the checker is.

We have a few cameras the next town over. Seems like every time I drive into Marysville those things are flashing like crazy. Sometimes I think people are getting popped when they are half way threw the intersection when the light is yellow. They are in a good spot to catch people running the light though.

My main problem with these cameras.

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence.

As long as you are pulling a duck boat with no lic on the trailor you will never get a ticket. We do it all duck season in NJ. And there is a camera at every intersection. You don't need to drive like grannie.

This is precisely how you can beat the ticket here. No witness.
