Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant, "If I live, I will kill you. If I die, you are forgiven." Such is the rule of honor.

I think if you pull them right away, they're fine for a good long while. I mean, a loooong time. The problem is when you let them sit for 3 days or so, and various hens are sitting on them for 6-7 hours a day, while they're laying.

Picked this up on another forum last week.
NIB Ruger Mark III Hunter with Crimson Trace Grips.
I didn't really want it, so I made a ridiculous lowball offer. Apparently, he really wanted to sell.
Basically got the grips for free. :)

I've got the one with the 2" (I think) shorter barrel w/o flutes and it was my favorite to shoot until I got that SR22. Both fun plinkers but the MK III is definitely less picky on ammo.

A MKII was my first pistol as a kid. Between rabbits and plinking I musta put a half million rounds through that thing.

This one loves Lapua Center-X. I also loaded some CBees, just to see if they wouldn't cycle. They won't, but there was a squirrel on the edge of the field at about 110 yards. I guestimated a hold over and squeezed one off just to see had badly I'd miss.
Damned near hit the sucker! Elevation was dead on, but I shot about 3 inches left.

I may have to grab one of those as well. It would be handy for walking around the property and whatnot.

It feels like it's half the weight of my original 22/45 and I'd guess it would be similar with the MKIII

I have been debating on which 22 pistol to get. I got the opportunity to shoot both a buck mark and a mkIII last Saturday. Now I am even more confused! :(

Slightly leaning toward buck mark at this point solely for easier break down/reassembly.

I love how insanely light those are but I hate the 22/45 grips. You win some you lose some...

Try shooting an SR22 before you buy if you can, the feel of grips is what sold me. But I wish I would've sought out the one with the factory threaded barrel for just a few bucks more.

I am wanting the most reliable with any ammo and a single action trigger, so that kinda rules out the sr22 and a 1911 22. I think it will come down to which I can find the best deal on brand new....

And a threaded barrel is completely pointless until I am able to get out of this commie state. (Or we finally get enough pull in the senate to pass a bill to allow suppressors)
