Was actually born there, didn't care for it.

Not really though, I was actually born there but my parents moved back to the motherland (Nebraska) before I was 6 months old, haven't been back since.

Tornadoes are a southwest/heartland thing. In the south you gotta worry about Hurricanes and fat women.

We've got tons around here. Lots of people use them in the beaches here. May want to check Eastern Shore Craigslist, or check the area. May be worth a drive if it saves you $500-$700.

I bought two sticks of PVC pipe , some caps, and some O-rings. Gonna make 6 water guns for the kids for less than $15. Got three done so far.

Thanks! This is our first camper ever. It is a 28' Jayco which is a nice size for my family of three. This will be parked permanently in a small ND town and will provide me with a decent base camp for my hunting excursions.

Doesn't slide out refer to the campers that have sections that expand to make the interior more spacious? I want the type of camper that slides into the bed of a pickup truck.

This made me laugh out loud, not the pic or idea mind you, but the situation I envisioned in my head where jim walks into the toy store to buy a couple squirt guns, sees the price and has a fit and immediately heads to Home Depot

It usually means a lot more to your children if you make something for them rather than just buying it:
it is unique
their friends don't have one just like it
it makes the children feel that their dad really cares about them

How about posting the plans? What size hole is in the cap? How did you make the O ring groove?

I found them online, somewhere. I'll have to check. Hardest part was finding the right I-ring. They're #217, I think

20" piece of 1", cap on end
20" piece of 1 1/4", cap on end, 3/16" hole drilled in cap
3/4" threaded plug. Wind Teflon tape around plug, to get o-rings to fit properly in the 1 1/4. This was the hardest part. I found making them a little bit (a very little bit) too big and then putting Vaseline on them worked best. When you get the width right, take the plug out, glue the piss out of the inside of the 1", and put the plug back in.

Basically just a big syringe. I painted the 1" to give you a warning when pulling it out when filling it up, so you know you're getting close to the end. Damn things work great.
