You mean a 60-70 year old 30-ton gun. With the modern paramilitary shit most swat teams have these days I doubt a WWII tank would last long against a state government. Especially when it's becoming more common to bring state guards in on police matters. Remember that guy in the late 90's who stole that tank from that national guard armory? That was a modern M1 and all they had to do was let him get stuck on a barrier or run out of fuel then they grenade the hatch and ended him quick. Yea he caused a lot of property damage but no one died. Now if he had a functioning cannon with rounds and a crew to load and fire I bet it would have ended very differently.
