No Decomp Water for California

Place for general and off topic Waterfowl talk.

No Decomp Water for California

Postby Legband » Wed Jul 09, 2014 7:52 pm

For years now the old timers have been saying the migration has never been the same after the state disallowed burning rice stubble off.
Instead farmers have to flood the checks and allow the water to decompose the remaining parts of the rice plant.
Well this year we may get to test their theory.
The word has it the state is saying no water will be used for decomposition purposes.
So there will be thousands of acres of less water and rice , just as it was years ago.
And the central grasslands may once again come to life.
Time will tell if it really happens but with duck numbers up it may be a interesting year.

It has been different since they started burning rice, but better for the ducks. I can't wait to see what this year brings. Sorry rice guys!

I just want to say I hope Boot kills less than 10 and I fuckin slay them. That is all.

Also this goes for Gaddy as well.

That really is impossible unless we both are killed on opening day.

Anything is possible. All of California could freeze over or fall into the ocean. Either would be acceptable.

Think how much money you could save if you only had to buy one box of ammo every 2-3 years!

I bought 4 boxes last year and didn't even use one. It was saddening.
