What's your waiting period? We've got 24 hours on a long gun, and 72 on a pistol.

None on a long gun, but ARs/"assault weapons" are illegal now. And the pistol is 7 days, but it's dependent on a state police check, which is currently a little over 40 days. Last year, it was over 100 days. BS. The law says if they're not finished and have the paperwork back within 7 days, the gun shop may release it to you with zero liability. But they don't.

Additionally, I must now get fingerprinted before buying one, and I'm not even certain where I have to go to do that or how much it costs, and if you haven't been in the military, you have to take a class. Which also costs money.

The thing that gets me is the stupidity of it all. There's no registration, so you may being in all the guns from out of state you want. There's no prohibition against owning an AR or 30 round mags, you just can't buy or sell them. So it's just retarded, really.

Sounds like it's the "frog in the pot of water" deal. Getting ready for more restrictions. No offense Assa and I really mean this but anyone who chooses to stay in a state that enacts unconstitutional laws like these deserves what they get. I know you have family and a home and land there but somewhere there has to be a line. It's obvious in your part of the country you're in the minority with no hope of turning things around.

Nope. When I got there, they had a 5% excise tax for yearly vehicle registration (the 13th car payment, they called it), and no concealed carry. Now you may carry, and there is a flat fee for registration. I'd call that a win.

I'm pretty sure we just have to wait for however long it takes the retard at Walmart to dial the National background check number. $10 and the price of the gun and you get walked out of the store by the guy at the counter. That always cracked me up. If I decide to shoot up the store with a new gun I just bought, somehow, walking me out and handing me the gun still in box will make me think twice.

How tough is it to draw those tags there? I would think with you being in Colorado that Wyoming would be a better choice. You can still buy some of the tags over the counter there. Toughest thing is finding public or a ranch that will let you hunt their place.
