Yeah, I just use what I know and have tested out over the years. I like them because they work great for ducks and geese alike. Shit hits hard and kill birds so hell with it I'm gonna stick with what I know.

yeah, I'll take the opinion of a 16 year old kid that lives in Montana that is killing 30 birds a season. You must have volumes of experience afield shooting in all numbers of variable weather conditions and a wide variety of species of fowl...... you little fuckin shitheel. ;)

Hoarder.

It'll be gone by the end of the season. Or close to it anyways.

How many grains are you using in each load and how fast approximately is it going?

35 grains.
It's a load Jehler gave me. I think it's around 1400-1500.
1 1/4oz
35 grains and a 209 primer 1470, 36 grains and a cci 209m and it's 1520ish. I have been using 35 grains, a fiochi 616 primer and sealing my crimps with aquaseal and getting 1490

Too damn expensive and lead is illegal. I don't have an issue killing with steel if I can hit them.

Tungsten would be pure hell on ducks in #6 shot going about 1200-1250 fps.

Rex is probably a better shot than DH but DH only went duck hunting twice to kill his seven. Rex went "jump shooting" 14-15 times to get his seven.

I'd take 1 1/4 2's @ 1350 and shred any waterfowl ever fledged.

You guys that think 150-300 fps is messing up your swing are dum. Even at 40 on a hard crossing angle the bird isn't going to move more than 5" with the increased TOF....if you're missing, it's not your shells. It's you.

I usually try to sound smart.

"I forgot I switched to these 1700fps shells so I missed in front. They velocity sure pushed this plated steel fast!"

That way the guy I am hunting with know I am hardcore. ;)

That's mostly true. But I've shot some shells at paper that had holes at 30 yards a goose could get through no problem. Sometimes it is the shells unless you're inside 20 yards. But it's usually the shooter...which it is for me.

I only shoot ducks with their wings cupped and their feet down. Don't have to worry about lead a whole lot. If fly swatters had longer handles, I wouldn't even need a shotgun. I just shoot um in the lips.

Early season is where you tend to get most of the ducks. Of course, I hunt the first 2-3 weeks of duck season, then the general hunting season comes around when I actually have to stop fucking around with ducks for a month and a half and go get meat for the year. Now it's december, shit is frozen up in most places and ducks are getting scarce so that means trying to find geese.
