Camping in Michigan

Postby 3geese4me » Sun Jul 27, 2014 9:52 pm

Next June I am planning on pulling my camper from ND all the way to Ohio. The last leg of my journey will take me down through Traverse city. I am looking for a campground that has reasonable rates, as well as, water and electricity hook ups at each site. Any recommendations?

What was that place we went to back in the day, Raccoon Lake?

Anyways, 3 geese, avoid that place.

Whitewater township park is right on Elk Lake with a boat launch. From there you can go up the chain of lakes. Elk, skegomog, torch, clam and Bellaire. It's about 2 miles from my house. It's also only about 15 miles into downtown TC.

Just make sure you bring your papers for the border crossing into Ohio from Michigan.

And if you plan on traveling home through Michigan, plan to shower out and de-louse when coming back from Ohio
