Went light today with cream of wheat (love that stuff) and all the fixings. And a cup of, musta been tasters choice or some shit, at the Chalet, which felt like an old folks home

Looks like the preserves I got from gramps today. He makes me a few jars with lots of chunks. Mixed up with candied jalapenos, it is heaven on grilled or sous vide duck breasts.

Who said a good movie had to be sad? A movie with some suspense and tension but it doesn't give away the ending. Just look at No Country for Old Men or Gran Torino. At the end of NCFOM, were you expecting the serial killer to be killed? because he never was. Or Gran Torino. You were probably thinking when Clint Eastwood pulled up to the gang house that he was just going to light all the gangbangers up like he did in The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Instead he reached for a lighter.

The end of the good the bad & the ugly is cinematic nirvana.

Eli wallach just died awhile ago. Kind of a one trick pony, but it was a pretty good trick.

Interesting aside, he was the first person to "gangster grip" a pistol (when he shoots the guy while taking a bath) and from then on it became a trend with Latino gangbangers.
