The caulk is dry rotted where I caked it on the trolling motor shaft and ran the ext cord in. It's 3 years old and still going

No prob man. I lied about the triangle. That was the first one I made and it didn't do very good. It was a small trolling motor. This one has 4 deeks. One on each corner and it throws a hell of a ripple. Gonna have to re waterproof it this year though

Also you can't reslly tell in the pics but I bent the shaft. It's angled up pretty good. In shallow water which that blind is I jab a tobacco stick in the ground and tie it off to it. So it's above water anyway

Thanks man. After last year in the shallow rice fields I'm after a ice eater. We froze up several times. Long ass drive to be cutting holes with chainsaws

I hear ya. I also picked up a 45# thrust trolling motor, will be turning it into an ice eater. Along with the mojo, should be able to keep some water open. Still need to tune uop the chainsaw before season.

I'm kind of kicking around the idea of making one of these...
I doubt I'll go to the trouble of the foot pedal though. Wouldn't an on/off switch work just as well?

I just straight wired mine on high. There's no pedal at all. It's a 100 ft ext cord with alligator clips on the end. We just leave the ground on and clip the hot lead on when we wanna run it

My MM is hardwired to a battery in the blind and has an inline switch, but for a season or two when the switch was boogered, I was just tapping stripped portions of wire together to make its decoys bob.

Not sure how I'm going to contain these 14 pounds of raw torque. Especially with the power prop it's running!

Mine is a 36 lb thrust, that should work just have to tie the decoys tighter to get the trolling motor head closer to the top of water

Oh yea, it'll be plenty. I was just saying it may need to be on shorter strings as far as decoys. Mine is about 3 ft under water and I've got 4 decoys on it. They jump around like crazy even at that depth
