Season logs...

Postby Rick » Fri Sep 12, 2014 6:46 am

Pretty disappointed that some others haven't decided to take us along on their hunts through the season logs. Understand they feel allegiance to the recent march for anarchy, but also know they're still browsing here and wish they'd get over it and rejoin us.

Some of us have so little interesting to post that it would just remind us of why we are so jealous of the guys that have interesting logs.

Although, mine would actually be pretty interesting so far. At least for me relative to normal. Let's hope that holds true for the rest of the season.

I've seen about 20 times more teal than I have in any other teal season. Best season prior to this year - 2, so far this season I've seen about 40. Of course, I've still bagged zero, which is tie for my best teal season  Hopefully this weekend will be my lucky day, but as long as the goose hunting remains decent, I'll be very happy.

Right there with ya Rick. It is what it is.

It would be nice with more but I think we have an active bunch in there now. I'm looking forward to the reading and pictures once we get things rolling.

I don't understand this season log. Do you just say what you got and when?

Yea most duck hunters that I've met that were a little older keep logs of their hunts. I do also, I include stuff like weather, wind, tides, temp, bird count, hunting partners, the dog's retrieves. It's cool to go back and look at your whole season.

The logs here on WFF are just a way for you to share your hunts with everyone in your own format and you can also use it to keep track for yourself.

Your'e also required to include GPS coordinates and landowner's phone number in the log on WFF.

i don't have the time to post a log on here during season. plus, i'm not a fan of posting up numbers.

pretty much if its REALLY cold, we kill em. if it is REALLY windy, we kill em. if it is snow/sleet with a decent wind, we kill em. if it is opening weekend, we kill em. other than those conditions, its kinda a crap shoot.

I'll get one going once our season starts in three weeks. May have to bust out the thesaurus so I can use some big words to keep my little numbers interesting, though.
