Topic title says it all. How much hunting gear have you bought this year?

My spending has been ridiculous, I guess sometimes being single has its benefits. I bought a truck, new binos, spotting scope and tripod, wall tent+wood stove, and a bunch of <$250 purchases. All said and done probably spent over $18k. Don't worry though, a lot of it was the bank's money :?

More than I should have but not as much as I'd like.
Overall i controlled myself pretty well this year. Just basic stuff...decoy bags, weights, line, paint, and some raffia

Four outboards, a boat, lots of gloves, wader pants, several milk crates, Texas rigs...
Still to come is fiberglass and resin for the boat floor, duck stamp, camo netting and raffia, prop for the boat, more decoys, and this is bad but banking on a new gun with the Christmas money I'll get from my wife's family. Also need to buy shells.
Damn duck hunting is expensive. Maybe one day I'll have bought everything I need.

4 full body snows, 6 snow shells, Pair of boots, pair of pintail butts, few boxes of shells, 1911, Bowie knife. Not a whole bunch probably more to come as season gets closer.

People always ask me what my "cost per bird" is. If I tried to figure it out with gear, gas, and shells I'd be suicidal. Its fun, so who cares what it cost right?

I have a strong feeling I have everyone on here beat hands down.

Not including a truck. (Which hardly counts).

I bought a pocket knife that's arguably "for hunting," since I wanted one the point hadn't been broken off of to core deer bungs. Also thinking about auditioning a few (6) new speck decoys, but am having a hard time turning that "want" into a "need". Used to be a much better debater.

Not enough! Half-Dozen Avian-X Black Duck decoys, 6-slot Avery decoy carrier, 8-10 boxes of shells, decoy weights and PVC line, new pair of hip boots, new license, state and federal stamps, Game Mgmnt permit, and a new Push Pole. Almost pulled the trigger on another dozen Gadwall dekes, but the 6 dozen I already have is almost pushing the limit of what I have room for now.............but may still get them anyway! Still need another 15 or so boxes of shells, and I should be ready to roll

2 cases of shells, breathable waders, baby mojo, marine battery,CCC Big Bore, max-4 coat(cause they were running sales since max 5 is out), hunting lisc for three states so far. Feels like I've spent nothing this year, but I guess roughly 1k is a drop in the bucket compaired to other years. The years we replace decoys, blinds, and add more gadgets we truly don't need to the our spread are the ones that really hurt the wallet.

I didn't spend too much this year.

Duck hunting.

A half dozen goldeneye decoys (I wanted something with a lot of white and found them cheap), a half dozen inflatable decoys (this seemed like it might be a stupid purchase, but wanted to try to get something that would move well in very light wind, they look OK, we will see), 3 mojo batteries, a few boxes of shells.

Deer hunting

Two ground blinds, two trail cams, seeds for food plots.

Do you do anything else on that 40 acres?

The thread is hunting GEAR expenditure. I don't think land counts as gear anyways.

A kayak, a dozen more mallard decoys, ace weights , PVC line, slotted bag, and a beanie , gloves, and neck gaiter. Too much money into it.

I live on 1/10 of 1 acre and the rest is a food plot and trees.

Counts in my books. A truck also counts. It provides transportation to hunting locations same as a boat or helicopter. You're not very good at this game Woody...

Buddy just got orders to Alaska and sold all his duck stuff. Ended up with 12 dozen full bodies and floaters w/ slotted bags for 550. I'm not going to count the kayak as a duck purchase but I think some ducks will get slayed from the big tuna. As the other stuff I bought I don't keep a tally. I buy when I can
Afford it and really try to always ask myself do I need it?

Well then I get to count my truck as well and then probably only Dan has me beat.

Which by the way I really don't care if I spent more than anyone else. I was just arguing to give him a hard time.

It seems every year I buy backup wings for the mojos, always seem to fall off and get lost at least once a season. I tend to buy backups of a lot of things as well. Anytime it see a good "sale" I talk myself into a purchase. Dad and I have 7 cases of shells( we shoot roughly 2 cases a year)and 5 dozen decoys in his basement because of things going on sale. Guess in the long run it pays off, shells and decoys just keep going up.

Strictly for duck hunting? A case of shells and licenses that's all so far this year. Other gear that will be used for hunting and non hunting? No idea. More money than I'd want to think about.

Last time I bought wings is when my buddy smoked it and missed the pair of greys that were practically sitting on it. Bout had nothing but two steel rods spinning once the dust settled.

In an effort to save the coyote's hearing - and head - I've an oft cited, and much too oft violated, rule of no low shooting to the right of my Robo. A few years back, one of my favorite octogenarians smacked a crossing teal and whacked the Robo in the process, leaving the wing on its left cattywampus:

But before I could say "damba," Jim busted me up with, "You'll note I did not shoot to the right of the Robo."

Next morning his buddies held a boathouse ceremony to present him with a spinner they'd shot and rigged for wall hanging:
