With the big moon of May falling on Saturday, decided to fish for a few bream to eat Sunday. 3 days prior to and 3 days after are typically the best times to catch them on the bed. First spot we tried had a few fish in it, and we boxed 25 nice bull bream quickly. Hit a few more spots with no luck, and decided that the 25 we had in the box was more than enough for us to eat, and decided to run down to the mouth of Mobile River before the South winds kicked up, to try and catch a few crabs for the pot. With all of the swollen river water still coming down from upstate, the normal influx of saltier water has been delayed, but is slowly making the transition. Did a little old school crabbing with a couple of hand lines in the water (using bass heads from a previous trip), and cold beer in the hand. Didn't catch but nine in an hour, but it was enough for us to boil and get a good taste of what we have been missing since last fall. Pulled the boat out just after lunch and headed to the house for a lazy Sunday afternoon. Threw a slab of ribs on the Weber, and Jenny made a bowl of coleslaw, and a pot of doctored up pork 'n beans, and enjoyed recharging for the work week ahead. Weather all weekend was absolutely beautiful, and it has not yet gotten miserably hot..........but it's coming
