Date: 11/11/17 Sat
Time: morning
Location: Mudhole
Cloud Cover: clear
Wind Direction and Velocity: next to nil easterly?
Temperature: cool
Moon phase: waning crescent 42%
Special Notes: first split opening morning
Waterfowl Activity: Next to no big ducks were even seen, but teal and jacks were plentiful, at least by comparison.
Waterfowl Responsiveness: Area gunfire had everything on skates. Group of five mottleds pushed off like they remembered the blind or, more likely, didn't like the hunter show in the blind but turned and came pretty as could be to woodie squeals on a speck call.
Hunters: 2, Donnie and little Joel
Guns: Malfunctions:Dog(s): Marsh didn't have anything real difficult to deal with and did a very solid job.
Special Equipment: Spinner and modified Mallard Machine, hereafter likely referred to as SOS, as will little doubt continue to be the case, on for teal and off for most everything else.
Curses: Crowd control was really bad.
Kudos: Nice guys and enough of the right kind of birds to make it work.
Birds By Species: 1 bw teal, 11 gw teal, 3 mottleds and 3 ringnecks
Photo Ops: Marsh with two of the three mottleds we clipped from a little bunch of five:
