To the original question: my experience has led me to favor high-end clucking "crack" over the "goosey" low end stuff most seem to want for Canadas, and while I'm enough of a call crank to have owned several makes and models, I've been happiest with Gander Valley's short, little (read: "quick") XXX, though not necessarily with its stock guts.
Not many speck calls I've not owned, but I've long favored an early hedge James Meyers and only somewhat more recent micarta Riceland, James turned down to his initial shape for me. Both have what started as Riceland guts that I've since modified.
Have had my best luck with blues and snow by either voice calling or torturing the XXX.
