Millet eats pretty well at 4 pm daily.
4.5 cups of puppy chow and a can of white tuna.

He loves it of course.

He gets salmon on alternating days.
With two labs just leave the rug doctor out.
Put it up and then you need it I swear.

That's an interesting mix.

Now I have to find some and try them.

Maybe throw a few beets in for color

I did a few variations and it's mostly the vinegar that I taste. Don't matter

Today I will do some real beekeeping and determine where this swarm came from. If the queen is marked...it came from my hive.
If not...it may have still came from one of mine.
I'd like to figure it out.
All I have to do is look into the brood nests.
If I find queen cells that have emerged...that's where the swarm probably came from.
Bee detective.
I have to go thru the weird garden hive then check 4 existing ones. Sounds like a ton of work. It's not.
I'll video it.

Went thru the hive and the "swarm" was just bees robbing the honey that last year's dead bees left. The same hive had an actual swarm move in last year.

How "I" do it is maybe different in technique but it's how I do it here.
Two year old video.

If I were to mark a new mated queen today it'd get a yellow dot. This year is a yellow year.
Next year is red. I use pink it's easier to see.
Skip to 14 minutes. It took me that long to find the queen.

My friend Tim's idea. Its called Nature Bound bug vac. Its a toy for kids.
We used them in removal jobs when we'd find the queen.
It's odd but you tend to find them at the very end.

I strapped on a gopro. Uploading is a pita using it.
Having it attached to the helmet worked pretty good.
Not perfect tho

All of a sudden people want HUNNY.
Not just a little we're delivering eight gallons in half-gallon jars tomorrow. Kuh ching.
$$$
96 pounds of hunny.
$525.
You do the math. We discount the big sales like that.
We're getting closer to $7/pound in smaller quantities.

Ok. The soap is made from
Coconut oil
Olive oil
Palm oil
Castor oil
Lye, water, goats milk, honey, and bees wax.
Rinses off really nice. Smooth lather.
We love the stuff.

Cold process Lye soap...you'd think it'd burn you but it don't.
It's about as natural as it gets.

Ew...my wife is angry. Not at me thank God.
Someone ordered honey. (1 gallon)
It's always a long process describing pricing etc.
They arranged to meet at the public library, didn't show up, and blocked us on their phone.
Has anyone ever had anything that weird happen?
Its a new one to us.

I aint no corporation with employees and a brick n mortar store but people get super butthurt when they figure out its not like that.
More personal. Smh
Another guy wants 5. Later on a buddy wants 2.
Big deal one person bailed.
Their loss.

Hey OG. We only have one empty bear.
These are 1# size.
4 ounces more.
That's what you get I think.
We're going away from the 12 ounce bears.
Funny but 12 ounces of honey is around one cup.
Them bottles are designed for honey.
Sold by weight not volume.

I’ll send some seeds to you, Mike. You’ll probably get a 50 pounder out of that rich Champaign soil.

True. We do better growing the other kind of melons.
It's way too late I think for that.
The cantaloupe type grows here extremely well.
Just east in Indiana it's better. I'm guessing you've watched me groping muh maters on yt.
The dirt here is very rich. Classified as sandy loam I believe.

Today is a wreck.
Starting at 11:45 one buyer after another has wanted to change times thus fucking the next guy in line. They call back begging...
I'm like be there or miss the boat like it's duck season...I'm anal.
Wife on the other hand is trying.

We sold 5 gallons to this guy whose dad used to have bees. Him and his dad are delighted and asked for some fall crop.
Both said they have not needed over the counter allergy meds since starting to eat a spoon a day of local raw honey.
I'm the same exact story..used to eat pseudo-epinephrine like candy or I'd be sick with headaches.
Hunny. Hmm

My bee yard is across the street from the Penn house.
The Penn farm was big but the one attached to the house in my bee yard was bigger and had other big brick houses for hands.
Ours is the nice one. The Penn house is half missing today they're demolishing it.
It sold for $500k and that's why I'm squatting on this place. The bee yard is the same size as the yard attached to the Penn house. 2 acres in the city on a corner lot.
Not that bad if I get it zoned commercial..

I took a lot of pictures and showed another carpenter.
We agreed its a bed n breakfast opportunity but the house needs new guts it's kind of 1930s inside it.
Beautiful with a couple design flaws.
Example: the bathroom attaches to the kitchen and is teeny sized. Thats actually common.in very old homes to shoehorn a bathroom into a pantry or closet in old Victorian homes. This one is old but not that old.
Oak floors everywhere.
Brick house. Cool architecture it needs to be a landmark.
(Not my idea but true)
The upstairs bathroom was obviously stolen in pieces from when they built Burnham Hospital it's the exact style.

The house is 1800s but was re-fitted with plumbing in the 30s.
Has a well in the yard.
Need to win lotto and remodel it. It's right close to the mall and the tennis coaches wife wants it. He keeps trying to rent the shed. Weird.
