Yankeegray may extent his season by heading up north my way. Things are starting to move.
I guess YG is pumping water because it's so dry down there.
I guess I should scout a few days.
See if we got any ducks left.

Yep. Next Saturday I will be in the duck blind. I have actually seen ducks everytime I was out getting the blind ready. Let's hope for a little luck this year.

Man I did know I'd put a big bruise on my chin.
It hurt but I was thinking it was sympathy pain from a split lip. Finally trimmed the brushy beard and ...
Ooof I should have waited. Purple chin.
I figure in a week my lip will be fully grow'd back.
I've eaten about half a bottle of advil.

Good stuff.

We always just used flour with salt n pepper.
This stuff makes it crunchy and just the right amount of spicy. Need to work on a brine that uses hot sauce.
Krispy Krunchy fried chicken brines their chicken where it has hot sauce up in the meat somehow.
We love it.

We raised the price on honey by $5/gallon.
This Asian lady who bought honey two years ago
is raising hell. Trying to negotiate me into a deal.
Getting on my nerves.
Want two, no three, no five gallons.
I'm like lady you can offer to buy it all and the price isn't going to change.
Sad face...lol

If you haven't done your truck maintenance yet better do it soon before it snows.
Don't forget to add the blinker fluid.

Funny story.
I got into this weird duck club arrangement with two guys from Arkansas. Didn't end well.
I ignored red flags like them asking what kind of rice we grow up here in Champaign.

Looking at gas prices and it's 50 cents a gallon less there where Im going.
I use about 100 gallons per trip times three.
I liked it better when gas was around $2.
Sigh.
It's over 3 now.

Don't know what to call it but this week is perfect for duck hunting only it ain't duck season.
Frosty cold nights for a week and then it warms again???
By Thanksgiving...it'll be like 80 degrees with 55 at night.
Unusual but that's the new normal seemingly.
I don't know I just don't know...
Stupid ducks.

Anyone else watch that Arkansas guide's channel?
He rented a high speed video camera and did something impressive finally.
His video on shot string length and chokes specifically the pattern master is very educational.

I spent much time being forced to listen to another guide who used patternmaster. He had us all convinced that the "80% shorter string" advertising claim is truthful.
It actually says "UP TO 80 %".
That is a meaningless claim.
0 percent falls into the "up to 80%" category.
Throw away your pattern masters.

The wad stopper thing works. Video clearly showed that.
Beware of advertising claims.
They lie

There are a lot of choices out there, and they all have their following. I use a .675 Terror Tube on big water hunts, and it is one of the tightest patterns I've seen to date. Unsure how that affects my shot-string, but seems like the speed of swing would also be a factor in determining, wouldn't it?

Maybe but that's tough maffs. I doubt it unless you can swing at the speed of sound.
To shorten your string all you need to do is run forwards while shooting.
If you could run 700 fps.....
What really helps is if every pellet is perfectly shaped and uniform size.
The slower poorly shaped pellets are what makes the string longer. They lag behind.

Find that video. He actually shows some snowmen made of hevi-shot.

This is getting creepy-close to that famous airplane-treadmill debate.

oh yeah. Came here to brag on muh skillet..I dumpster-dived for it when I saw it.
It's a lightweight skillet.

True
True
Let's revisit the cold air drops theory.
True....hot air rises. Less dense...
That's why it's frigid at two miles high.
All that heat. :?

You are forgetting the good old ideal gas law. PV=nRT.

As hot air rises, the pressure drops, which cause the air to expand, which causes the temperature to drop.

Then the question is whether the hot air after it has risen, expanded, and the temperature dropped, is it warmer or cooler than the surrounding air.

If warmer, it keeps rising and we have unstable conditions. Look out. Rain may be coming.

If it is cooler, we have stable conditions and blue skies are in the forecast.
