Yesterday every bear we had at the hospital.got bought. They demanded more.

My wife works at Carle Hospital.
It's very big. Mayo Clinic is their rival.
It's quite a blessing that all these medical people want raw honey. They spread the word.
Demand for these bears is very high.
When I got back into bees I never dreamed it'd be so good to me.
They support my hunting habit.

Getting my boondocking heaters ready.
Not kidding around. The old school heaters produce 'dry heat'. Burning propane generates water vapors.
It's simple chemistry.
LP plus fire---->heat+CO2+H2O vapors.
Yeah. I took chemistry too.
They made me.

That Origo heat-pal is precious.
Try and find one then tell me how much it costs.

Damn. The old ones go for around $100.
A newer one used is $250. Worth it.

It's another world up there.
Lots of water and gravel pits.
We hunted around Ottawa and it's different but plenty of waterfowl. Where I'm at is not at all the same.
To see ducks in numbers I have to travel.

I don't oil up my gun.
I put a drop or two onto a q-tip and dab the "thing that moves". (Slide?)
It's run dry other than the dab of oil on slide.
It don't take much.
It runs better clean with not a lot of oil to collect powder residue. I learned that the hard way. Don't we all?

As you might imagine I am greedy about retrieves for my puppy. He still needs to learn about a diving duck. So far everything I've shot is dead on the water.
Eventually a cripple that is lively will teach him good.

Your heater tutorial reminds me of a deer hunt back in the 80’s. I had made one of those paint can, toilet paper and alcohol heaters. Instead of just soaking the roll, I dump the entire bottle in the van an lit it. The flame kept getting higher until it was a roaring 2 feet. I got concerned and kicked the heater off the 12’ ladder stand into the swamp below and created fire on the water in all directions until the alcohol burned off. Good times.
