I would guess that the geese are locals... I only kill two or three a year...

Trigger and I hunted this morning... Found a whole bunch yesterday scouting, they were no shows this morning... I don't know where they are I couldn't find them... There are a few mallards using the back of a cove, I guess we'll try those in the morning...
Two green, Two Gray...

I’d still take that for a “no show” day every time!

I appreciate the comments guys, thank you...
The reason I said no show is I just thought it was a sure thing, if I was a betting man I would have bet that I would have shot five Green and a gadwall just goes to show how much I know about duck hunting...

Couldn't get my lazy butt out of bed this morning...

Moe and I went to a local WMA to try and find some quail that was a bust we only stayed 45 minutes it was too hot...

I'd bet on it.
The mvp is crisp with a ton of range when compared to a DC.

I was just messin' with Blueblood about buying yet another call. But an old "contest tuned" MVP has out-drawn an old half-scroll DC Ronquest thought extra fine and way more other challengers than I care to think about - to include another MVP Butch modified to be an extra loud hunting call.

My third, and only other, MVP is much newer than those two and slightly different in both mouthpiece shape and tuning, with the later, like other current RNTs I've seen, bowing to current demand for more inherent rasp with appreciably deeper dog-earing of the stock reed than used to be the barely-nicked case. That said, I had no trouble cutting another reed to make it a darn close match to my old favorite in tone, range and ease of operation.

Hope you find yours as fine of a fit as I have mine.

This morning Trigger and I hunted those Mallards we found in the back of that cove the other day... They were still there...
Five green... No other ducks to add to it, the only thing we saw was mallards...

This duck surprised me this morning I don't think I've ever killed a Green head on January 6th that wasn't fully plumed...
I know our duck population may be down but it isn't because of Mama ducks, this guy was hatched late summer or early fall ???

Not at all, I was just being a smart-ass. And lamenting that our mallards have all but quit coming.

Oh, I figured that....

Ordered that MVP yesterday it was on the front porch when I got home... I'm not near the duck caller that you are, this MVP will take a little practice... I do look forward to messing with it...
My call lanyard consists of Daisy cutter and a drake whistle lol...

Yesterday afternoon Moe found one single...

This morning we weren't able to find any...
I sure do enjoy stumbling around out here, but it is very humbling...
Will give them a go in the morning one more time and then head for the house...

Moe and I hunted this morning, quit at 11:30...
Zero quail, we're both tired...
I'm going to have to take him on a canned hunt... I feel sorry for the little feller...
