The key is to get everyone extremely intoxicated the night before. Only a quarter of the people would be sober enough to stand up come time to go. Problem solved.

good thinkin.

I practice every weekend of our season. Rarely ever miss a hunt.

Couple of grand? I'm rolling in with a Walmart tent, bottle of Mohawk 190 and a single box of Xperts. Gonna rock this shit.

I don't have blinds, never know where I will be hunting. Use layouts ir make a blind with natural vegetation. I have a feeling who ever stays at my place, will be doing some boozing. I am a trained professional.

My guess for timing would be early to mid December.

Well, when I ran to Canada, all I had to pay was food, fuel, and shells, and the two of us ran out of a grand each after a week. Had to figure about the same for running down there. Plus I'd love to get to Canada again but with this job switch who knows if I'll even get that one. Gotta imagine it'd be easy to tear down 35 to get there tho.

Shoot, my tent has 3 rooms. We call it the Taj Mahal. It's bag has luggage wheels. What can i say, i pitch a big tent, lol.

Although in December might be a little chilly, it wouldn't be there first time I've slept in it during freezing temps.

We have a Mifi here. I live about a mile from a cell tower, good reception. I am actually about 20 Mins from Jarbo and 30 from Goodkarmarising.
I also have my own shooting range so if you drive, bring what ever guns you want to shoot.
Depending on the time of year you come AT, we might be able to sneak you in a coyote or deer hunt, too.

Blinds? HA HA HA ha ha ha ha hee he!! ha ha HA HA he ha......you folks from back east crack me up. "make a blind with natural vegetation" Ha ha oh Jarbo....thats a good one.

No Sir, you will be laying in cowshit, doing it old school. We occasionaly use some handy driftwood, etc. This will be a DUCK HUNT, not a social event to promote grabassery. That will be after the hunt at Jarbos place.

Assateague, I am not the professional boozer Jarbo is, but I do enjoy some drinks of an evening.

You can do that, or you can sleep inside with the white folks. I have an extra room and bed for ya.

I think KS Deer season is just about the same time Jarbo is talking about. And normally you can say 2 things about that time of year:

1) About prime migration time
2) COLDER THAN HELL.

If its not frozen over, we may want to take my boat out and do a couple of seprate hunts. But this is Jarbos deal, I am only offering thoughts and suggestions.

This might be the best bet for some of these guys. You can check guns into baggage onto a plane. Cheaper than driving a diesel truck cross country. Sometimes we go with a big spread of deeks, other times we might throw out a dozen or so.

There are some lakes around that would be good with your barge.

I really love that idea but I think Jarbo would be the one to answer that because he knows the local habits of birds best.

Would be if we get a shitload of rain. Most places I hunt are too low to accommodate such a beastly structure.

Welcone to bring it if you'd like. Temps can be from 0-75, so be prepared. My advise would be drink a lot and sleep wherever you may pass out.

Ouch! Might be worth checking on throughout the year, if a good deal comes up, great, if not, take a handful of Doans and hit the road.

I'd like to do a layout hunt that seems to be the most practical way since Jarbo doesn't own any blinds. I can bring my boat if needed though.

Bringing boats or such would be a game time decision, depending on water levels. As I said before, if we do not get caught up in rain, there won't be many places to hunt, we can't handle a 3rd straight year of drought.
My original thoughts in hosting a hunt was I have a 25 acre watershed lake that when not froze holds good birds. If it is froze I have private access to the river, both are capable of supporting large groups. Would definitely be looking for other places or some field hunting, go wherever the birds are.
