Just calculate it as 25% of the people that say they are coming, will actually come. I am in the opposite boat as jehler. I have no other plans besides hunting here, so unless I get into financial trouble, I will be there.

Hell it might end up being you, me, jarbo sitting around the fire listening to why TK got banned from DHC....

Luckiky we don't need them during hunting season! My beer stays on top of my freezer on back porch.

If you're drinking fast enough a yeti is a waste of money. Use the money for more beer instead. 10 cans in and it won't matter warm or cold, right?

Olly you crack me up. I am just surprised at how I got banned; it should have happened a long time ago.

At any rate, would love to meet you, sit around the campfire so I can tell you a story of how I got banned....

Yes, it really happened. I got into it with HntFsh. I got a warning, then sent him a PM with a crying baby. I called him a pussy and said he had no balls. And for that, I got banned.

TK, you need to make a long elaborate story, then just copy and paste it.8-)

WEll not a bad idea, but I decided just to make it part of my Sig and repeat it over and over and over.....every time I get to call him a pussy and a no balls crybaby, the world is a little better place. If I am your friend, its 100%. If I am not your friend, its also 100%.

Eric, if it turns out to be 5-6 guys to hunt I hope you do bring your trailer, etc here. Put it to you this way- GKR and I went out one day and set out 86 canada full body, shells, and floater decoys by our selfs....and that doesn't even take in what Jarbo has in the way of decoys. GKR has over 700 snow decoys and a couple hundred floating snow deeks. Between the three of us, we probably own 300 floating duck decoys.

We have a pretty good population of geese here. I saw some REALLY big flocks of migrating canada's this winter.

I do my best work drunk/hungover. 2011 Opener we drank til 4 in the morning, went out for breakfast, showed up at our spot to find out the game warden was joining us on our hunt. Good times!

Best part about that is that geese fly late. At least around here. Really no need to get up at 5, when you can get up at 7:30 and accomplish the same thing, pretty much just as quick.

I'll let Jarbo confirm, but that is usually not the case here, not unless we end up with some unseasonably cold weather. Granted, they don't fly at first light like ducks do, but I usually try to be set up by first light, as it usually is not long after that they start flying. The colder it gets, the later they fly, but if we are booking an early to mid-December hunt, I'd be willing to bet that birds will be flying within the first hour of shooting light.

Yep, completely dependent on weather, also if field or water hunting. I like to use 25-27° as a gauge on how earky birds will fly. A nice warm mornibg, I expect to see them close to sunrise. As sws said, the colder the later, when it gets real cold, they tend to fly obky in late afternoon, unless there is precip.
We will go back to priority #1, have fun, the rest will take care of itself. I bet we shoot some birds alobg the way also.

Even if we don't need the whole setup, a few fullbodies and extra blinds are always nice to have.

By the time this trip rolls around next year, I should be able to bring down about 5-6 dozen Bigfoots and Dakotas, as well as a few dozen FB Mallards, and I already have about 7 layouts at my disposal, 4 of them with snow covers if needed.

I typically only hunt with 2 other guys and we are completely set up in 30 minutes. Decoys set, blinds brushed, and guns loaded.

Be prepared, can be from -10 to 75°.
Hopefully our trend continues, above average precip for Jan, and at average for Feb already, with more rain forecasted this weekend. Unfortunately we were +17" below for last year, we need lots of surplus rain.
