All you do to embed is go to the url of the video, top of page.

copy everything after the =

cwDnSlxOZ-c

hit the youtube button the compose box

then paste what you copied in between them

I put the period so you could see what it looks like

Finally got it. I was copying the URL for an email and it has to be the URL for a message.
