Go the other way and get a diesel. Chip, exhaust, and injectors, I bet you'll get about 20 mpg

My 05 z71 avgs 20 mpg mixed driving. Cruising on the highway at 65 mph it sometimes reads 22-23 on the live mpg display.

3.49 here. Gas is the only issue with trip to Cali. Drivin 2000 miles one way is expensive.

There was another big cutter heading out to sea as we were entering the harbor. Didn't have time to take a picture as I didn't feeling like explaining to them the reason we rubbed paint in the narrow channel is because I was taking a picture for the guys on WFF.
I'll try to get some better shots if I can this week.

You joke but when I was stationed in Texas we got the call to go out and assist a 80ft Ketch that was taking on water trying to outrun Hurricane Dean. The worst seas I've been in and from the weather deck I could touch the water as the motor life boat heeled to the port side. I was glad to have the boat that night.

I bet whatever you drive will get better MPG than my F-350 with a 460 in it.
