We had a blast last spring fishing out of Astoria. Caught something like 50 fish in 4 days of fishing.

Bank- Check the regs carefully as they changed them last year. Some asshole from Cali depleted the fishery and they did some emergency measures. :fishing:

They really did change the regs though, can't remember if it was closed or went to C&R. We cancelled our plans to do a charter.

I wrapped the line around a stick and held it until whatever was pulling broke the line. I figured it was a huge sturgeon.

That's exactly what its like when you hook one through the ice. As tight as you can pinch the line, the tension just increases until it pops through your fingers. No tugging or anything. I've only landed a 52 incher but had a couple right under the ice that were not going to fit through a 10" hole.

I was on Sturgeon Bay (pretty much Green Bay) one time with a buddy pike fishing. For some reason we put out a tip up and backed the truck over it and piled up snow so it couldn't be seen. ;) ;)

It went up and I grabbed it, bending under the truck. My buddy had fallen asleep in the truck and I pounded on the tailgate for 10 minutes while a huge sturgeon lumbered away. As tight as I could hold the line, he took it inch by inch. Buddy finally woke up and pulled the truck forward. Snapped the fish off shortly after.

Ours start moving back in around mid November if they're gonna do a winter spawn. Its been warmer so it could happen.

Here's a few more fishing pics of my gal pal. Started taking her fishing 2 years ago when we started dating, and she now fishes with a bait caster like a pro! I swear, hard to believe, but I think she likes fishing more than I do

She's got me beat by a long shot, then. A baitcaster will make me look like a 3 year old with a can of silly string. I hate those inventions of the devil.

Baitcasters are also known as the Tanglemaster 3000. I looked at one once and it exploded into a birds nest.

Awesome pics Delta, welcome to the site!

Get them adjusted correctly and they are a joy to behold and to hold. Forget that stuff you see the bass fishermen do on TV, hold the rod at about 45 deg. and let the redfish take the bait.
