Ha ha. The grocery store has giant rolls they make fresh daily. At 4 for a dollar we try to always keep some in the pantry. I was working with what I had on hand. Fwiw this recipe has completely swayed my opinion on shrimp. I used to hate it. I added andoulie to the recipe and wont make it any other way now. It absolutely makes the dish

Where was the scoter gravy anyway?

Its called sauce piquant for a reason. When you dump a 2 liter of 7-up in with the simmering meat, it can become a lot of things, but it can no longer be a gravy. Hence, the sauce. Hence why I found it agreeable with the rice.

You used nothing but lean chunks of meat. Sauce piquant is never a gravy at any point during the process.

Proof. Gravy on rice is still nasty.

I made bean soup today, and now it smells like 4,300 sqf of death in here.

Brutal.

Started off as a simple meal. Ended up making wildboar stuffed pork chops with spicy sausage and gorgonzola cheese. With a red wine reduction, bacon green beans and roasted red potatos. Opened a nice bottle of red wine to go with...... fat kid is now a happy camper.:D

The big ones taste like shit IMO. You gotta kill them when they are small. 100 pounds or less. When they are 15-30 is about the best there is.

By the time you but the barrel, the grates, the brass valves, the smoke stack for the top, and all the little accessories...
Even if you only allow your self 15$ an hour for build time it's still cheaper than the UDS

That would cost money. I get all mine for free. Just got to pull the mean bastards out of the cage. Alive no less, cause they don't want us fucking up the trap with blood. It also allows for a little bit of excitement in the summer.
