The big ones taste like shit IMO. You gotta kill them when they are small. 100 pounds or less. When they are 15-30 is about the best there is.
ha! Made you think about it, jr said that sauce piquant was rushed and tastes like shit, we only liked it because we were drunk, maybe at the ice fishing trip I can put together a proper venison onebill herian wrote:jehler wrote:you didn't have any trouble scarfing down that scoter gravy on rice, or were you just being nice
Where was the scoter gravy anyway?
Its called sauce piquant for a reason. When you dump a 2 liter of 7-up in with the simmering meat, it can become a lot of things, but it can no longer be a gravy. Hence, the sauce. Hence why I found it agreeable with the rice.
You used nothing but lean chunks of meat. Sauce piquant is never a gravy at any point during the process.
Proof. Gravy on rice is still nasty.

One hour farmer time, that's like 6-8 hours on a clock right?

good to know! I guess thinking about it I have heard of big domestic pigs tasting bad before. I'd love to get some pot-bellied pigs to raise up and butcher and make mini hams out of
