The big ones taste like shit IMO. You gotta kill them when they are small. 100 pounds or less. When they are 15-30 is about the best there is.

good to know! I guess thinking about it I have heard of big domestic pigs tasting bad before. I'd love to get some pot-bellied pigs to raise up and butcher and make mini hams out of

That would cost money. I get all mine for free. Just got to pull the mean bastards out of the cage. Alive no less, cause they don't want us fucking up the trap with blood. It also allows for a little bit of excitement in the summer.

i'd raise em. hell if you had extras you can sell them as pets, or just eat em. we don't have wild pigs so it would cost me money anyway.

Their was a group about 40 of them. Dumb shits just walk right out in front of us feeding in a barley field. We saw one big old boar up on the mountain. It winded us and ran back up the hill.

I've seen some big sows and boars that would take a full clip from a 22 and not slow down. Like I said scary sumbitches. My grandpa and uncle caught some close to 450 pounds and had a boar that tore up all our traps that was well over 500.

I shot a few with my 270 before and all they did was stumble a little and keeped on trucking. Big one are tough as nails. Still though if you hit them right. They'll die fairly quickly.

I keep my .357 magnum handy if I think hogs might be around. Pretty sure Milo is dumb enough to think he can take one...has never encountered a hog but he was smart enough to go way around skunks and snakes... so far.

Grillin up some duck poppers from those weird lookin ducks we shot last night. The wife is working until 9 tonight and the step kid went back to his dads today, so im bachelor style tonight. Duck, cornbread, homemade applesauce and plenty of beer!

Ive done poppers several ways, but my faorite is either cream cheese or a good spicy pepperjack. Also I like to throw a handful of soaked applewood chips on the coals, the little bit of smokiness puts the cherry on top!
