That sucks. People that say modern compound bows give a hunter an "unfair advantage" have obviously never tried it, in my opinion.

Been there done that Hudson. Took me 7 years to finally get one. Bow hunting is a bitch.

No it isn't. Missed plenty. Finally killed that little one out of a stand set up for hunting with a crossbow. I was bent over and turned completely around to shoot over the rail and around a tree. Pretty sure it would have been quite a sight had somebody else been there.

If you've never missed a deer, then you haven't bow hunted enough.

Damn straight. I'm not sure how many I've killed with a bow, maybe 30-40, and still miss very regularly.

Can you call yours modern? Kinda like the A5 guys calling their guns modern...

$0.008 for a pound of venison...

Heck yes, I've got a 3 year old Drenalin. High tech. But yes, the $0.008 a pound is nice, but only applies to my rifle. Although even figuring in a couple of new bows along the way, I still have to be around a penny a pound.

You hunt by your house? I know if you figure in gas and the piss ton if money we put into fields every year. Not to mention taxes on a 160acres. We could buy a lot of cows for what we spend on deer every year.

The furthest I deer hunt is maybe 3 miles. And it's all free, no leases, through farmers I know. Pretty darn cheap, any way you slice it.

That's kinda nice. Costs us about $50 in truck gas a weekend to go up. No electricity so we have to run a generator. My dad musta really liked deer hunting when he bought that place.

I had an SQ-2 for years that I loved. Decided I needed "newer and faster". Don't get me wrong, it's a really nice bow, but that SQ-2 was way smoother.

Maybe that's what I was thinking of. I'm pretty sure that you referenced the SQ somewhere else, leading me to believe that you had (THIS IS FOR DUCK HAMMER), an OLDER MATTHEWS, rather than a NEWER MATTHEWS.

No natural vegetation for blinds? What the fuck is that about? The other are dumb but at least a retarded argument can be made on their behalf. The cover deal is pointless as hell. Why do you have that rule?

It's to prevent the spread of invasive species, allegedly. Again, total bullshit.

Use common reed in any manner for the construction of hunting blinds on lands owned or controlled by DNR.

The marshes and areas where most hunt are 99% reed, so technically when I set on a bucket in some thick reeds I'm breaking this law.

They even made me take off the Real Grass I had on my boat, because it hadn't been "certified seed free" by the state. Dickheads, I'm telling you.

A lot depends on where you hunt. If I wanted to make deer hunting a challenge, I'd need an atlatl.

Truth.

I will say though that very few people follow the law, if you know what I mean. It's just more incentive to make sure you're hidden really, really well.
