Well the important thing is we are talking about gmay beer. I may honor this thread tonight with a picture of an excellent ale made up the river from Jarbo. Brewery is called Free State, based in Lawrence.

Kurt, did you here about those scheming bastards in Colorado trying to patent the name "Nitro".

I think there a Michigan brewery trying to patent "Lupulin" as well, for naming.

Bootleggers! New Glarus says that they don't sell outside of their state. I wonder if someone is doing something fishy...

FF you are correct, someone must be bootlegging. There are certain instances wher we will ship a load out to a big festival to be sold around the area, but usually only one time deal kind of thing (or each year at that festival, ie GABF, Craft brewers conference, extreme beer fest)

The nitro copywrite thing is BS, I don't think it will go through. I haven't heard about the lupulin one either, but can't understand how one could do do it, SMH.

I know I asked before but I can't remember what the name if your brewery is.
I've been drinking a beer from Michigan called two hearted ale lately. Love that shit. Had to give the guy at the liquor store a few free rounds of golf to butter him up to get him to order me some more.

I work for shorts brewing co, a Michigan only brewery. just our company policy to stay only in mi, sort if like how new Gladys is Wisconsin only.
Two hearted is from bells brewing, I like the two hearted IPA, next to Oberon, probably their biggest seller.

God damnit Brew, thanks for reminding me I'm out of Oberon! Apparently Nebraska is a PITA to import beer into, so Bells said fuck them. I've heard rumors that it can be found across the river in Iowa, but I've not yet gone on a hunt for it.

Honestly I'm not a big fan on Oberon, they've changed it from the original recipe and isn't as good:( granted if its a hot day and the beer is really cold, sure it's great, but so is PBR and Hamms under those circumstances.

I'm a big fan of the New Glarus beers. I wish I could grab some around here, but I can't find one of Boot's friends...

Instead I have to load up while up north, or go without.

TK, you should try some when you head to Lambeau. Probably not sold in the stadium, but one of the bars will have it.

That is the kind of details I am relying on you for. If I go to the Frozen Tundra, you will be there, too.

I doubt I was around for the original recipe to have any baseline for comparison, but I did enjoy it anyway. We have Lucky Bucket in Omaha and they seem to be pretty decent. Their Certified Evil is a bad motherfucker.

Had this last night. Sounds gross but it's actually a really refreshing summer beer. I drank 5 of them. There's a place I like to go down town that keeps a rotation of about 20 or so beers on tap. Always changing them. Good place to go and sample good beer.

Ive had the hell or high watermelon, wasnt thrilled with it, IIRC it tasted too much like fake watermelon. Same with Sam Adams Cherry Wheat, tastes like cough syrup.

I can't tell you how many times I've worked a long 12 hour day in the hot sun and grabbed me up a 6er of smirnoff ice, opened up a pack of skittles and just said whoa, what a day.

Anyone tried OB or 33? How about Ballantine's (PBF)? Anyone ever shoot a Ballantine? If you have, you would know.

I can get it Indiana and Michigan.

I don't think I've seen it here, only heard people from TX talk about it. My problem is that all the hipster dipshits here demand PBR on the shelfs. Nothing wrong with PBR, but it has become such a fad to drink it that I go out of my way not to drink it.

The same thing happened with Rolling Rock about 25 years ago. Used to be a good, cheap beer. Then the precursors of hipsters, whatever they were called, decided that Rolling Rock was "the beer", and the price damn near doubled. I wouldn't drink that shit if you paid me to, anymore.

Plus, they moved the local family brewery out of Latrobe, PA to God knows where.

There are a lot of good beers, too many to list in fact. What almost all if these great beers have in common us that they are not made in America, especially from some Podunk "craft" brewery. American breweries always overdo something, be it too much spice or too much hops. They lack the subtlety that their European counterparts have. As far as drinkable lower quality beers go, Canada blows the US out of the water. Moosehead is $21 a case. I call it the poor man's Stella.

I like German Heffe. The wheat adds a distinct flavor and aroma. Belgian beers are fantastic, although Chimay is way too costly to drink daily. Hogaarden is my favorite summertime beer.

That's retarded.

Shiner-Texas
Abita-Louisiana
Goose Island-Illinois
Arrogant Bastard-California

Don't get me wrong, my favorite beer is Chimay and I'll burn the coin to drink it whenever, but to say that there aren't a lot of great beers brewed in America is insane.
