I love goose hunting and have a ton invested but in the end, you are shooting the same bird every time. If ducks aren't moving good we always just go for geese since its a pretty easy limit.

Yea I guess it isn't. I would choose a diver layout hunt over a goose hunt any day.

Really?
That scares me almost as much as pictures of TK.
Yep, I've never done it. But I know it is something that I would enjoy greatly.

I have a desire to live, so I want nothing to do with the open ocean. A layout in shallow waterin deep water

I guess it all boils down to adventure, and there's just no excitement in pulling a trailer loaded full of decoys into a feed field and waiting for sunrise.
I'm with ya here Ron. The simplicity of duck hunting is appealing. As is, as stated above, watching the sun rise over the waterRonE wrote:Ducks, ducks, ducks! But it is easy to pass up a duck hunt for a good goose hunt. Goose hunting is too equipment intensive for me. Give me 5-10 doz duck decoys a boat and a shotgun and something to eat and drink and I'm duck hunting. Give me a 4 wheeler, about 1000 rags to put out and pick up, a layout blind and I'm goose hunting, much more work.

so you're the best at it then. Those are big words Eric. Chose them wiselyEric Haynes wrote:DeadEye_Dan wrote:I'd rather shoot geese than puddle ducks and I'd rather shoot divers and sea ducks in open water from a layout than either of the others.

Yep. For me its also a bigger challenge shooting ducks than geese. I'm damn near RMFC when it comes to field goose shooting.

Red, it's the funnest thing when you jump 200 ducks off a little pool in a creek. That's excitement.
