Don't know if anyone is in the Sac Valley, Chico area, but if we could get a hunt going on in there that would be beyond badass. If nobody specifically wants to host it I think it'd be cool idea if we all met up and camped out and hunted somewhere. Maybe get some barbecue going and have duck camp for a few days, especially if we shoot for early season that could be a great time.
Just throwing out another idea.

We have been trying to figure out how to do a hunt in the Valley and trying to guess about the water situation. The problem with the Valley is how to get a group of guys out together. Breaking the group up and doing seperate smaller hunts is possible, but not as much fun as a group hunt.

Depending on where in the check you are, couldn't you set up layout blinds next to the pit?

I hunt a natural club and Boot hunts the rice. Not a lot of room on the check for layout blinds and I'm not sure if that is even allowed where boot hunts and I am limited on the number of guests I can bring.

That's awesome! I was just talking yesterday about how I'd love to live in Redding some day. Great fly fishing in that area, and not to far from Tahoe. I hope to open a fly shop as successful as Reddings " The Fly Shop" some day also.

Haha! I don't know about awesome, but it is nice. A couple hours to the coast, a couple hours from big cities, and a couple hours from middle of nowhere. It not bad.

"The Fly Shop" is a hell of a business. Too pricey for me but they definitely have made a name for themselves.

It's a lot of work to clean them, paint them, put them out, pick them up. But it is cool to sit back and see how the birds work the spread

But gaddy is king and works way harder then me!
