I've never fished for carp, or bowed them, but it looks like a ton of fun. Gonna have to try it this year.
its some of the most fun you can have with your clothes on

when i was younger and fishing with an older buddy, we would take the carp we shot and trade them to a low grade chinese restaurant in exchange for dinner. been a long time tho

I have never ate one, but I can't see how it could possibly taste that much different than sturgeon.

Great tip. Them deep cycle batteries are 'spensive as **** and it HURTS to buy one.assateague wrote:Another battery related tip- even if you buy a brand new battery, pop the caps off and top off the water. New batteries only come about 2/3 full. Even if it says "do not remove", I pry them off and fill up. Get about double the life out of them.

How am I going to pull off being a resident in one state while living in another?
I spend about 3-4 months/year in Arkansas. I'm slowly edging towards moving there but the wife, daughter, and grandbaby have roots in Illinois.
Paying out the azz for the ooser license and parking my truck at WMA's with ooser plates...has to end somehow.
Any tips or tricks?

So how does a senator or representative live in Washington for several years and still have residency in their home-state come election time? Good question.Woody wrote:aunt betty wrote:I'm trying to pull off a REALLY good trick and may need some pointers.

Legally speaking... You can't!
You are a resident of the state you spend the majority of your time in, if you have a home in two states.
You and your wife simply have to spend a few more months outside Illinois.

What I been told is to simply pay for one single delivery of propane to someone's residence in Arkansas. The bill is a utility bill and is proof of residence. I take the bill to the Driver's License place and simply get a new license and whalla. I'm an Arkansas resident.
IT IS THAT EASY!
To get a resident hunting licence this fall I have to do this NOW. The law says you have to be a resident at least 6 months prior to buying your first resident hunting license. I wonder how it works if I come in and am only 5 months and two weeks?
I guess I buy an ooser license still.
I'm not going to do all this to save a couple Benjamins but it sure is tempting.
I know you can't have two licenses. It's like you are saying an Ar. license is only good in Ar and not Ill.?assateague wrote:aunt betty wrote:The way for me to become an Ar resident on paper is easy. You will have to turn in your IL license to do this. So you better not get pulled over in IL.
assateague wrote:Sometimes you don't have a lot of sense. You can do whatever you want, won't hurt my feelings a bit. But the flaw in your plan is that you must turn in your IL license. If that doesn't matter, why didn't you just do what you were going to do years ago? And have fun paying the non-resident hunting and fishing license fees in IL, with your AR licenseSeems like 6 of one, half dozen of the other, if you ask me.
